broken radiator top

How many have broken the top neck on the radiator? I for one do.

I was wondering what type of clamp was used and possibly that is causing the problem?

I had a worm clamp on mine. I'm thinking the factory spring clamp is a better way to go.

For the top radiator hose? Metal or plastic?

Nope, just the filler cap lip (lid wouldn't stay on).

I prefer the worm drive myself, I generally only use the spring clamps on barbed fittings. I've never heard of anyone breaking things with them before. More likely just material fatigue or manufacturing flaw?

The one on my old 95 was starting to crumble, but it was the original 95 radiator. Otherwise I've never had any problems. I have the worm gear clamps right now but I like the stock ones better. They seal a lot better in the cold.

The plastic ones, sorry. It only seems to be the upper is the one to break. I will eventually switch out the radiator. Still holding for now. Knock on wood.
