so after doing a pre winter inspection on my 97 r50 lastnight (wheel bearings, brakes ect) i discovered that one of the bolts that connects the passenger side cv axle to the front diff was missing the head. the threads are still in there.....

is there anyway to replace the plate containing the threads, or has anyone ever had a similar issue?

If the bolt is broken flush with the diff flange, you might need to drill it out. If it's broken flush with the CV axle flange, you should be able to remove the CV axle, and then use vise-grips on what's left of the bolt. Alternatively, if there's room, you can use a dremel tool to cut a slot into what's left of the bolt and then try to unscrew it with a flat screwdriver.
