Interior lights staying on/door struts?

Has been a loong time but i need to ask the resident experts for help.

Before you bombard me with with "search you idiot".. i have been trying. No luck yet.. Also unable to find anything in the teardown book

 

The interior lights are staying on (d'uh). This came up right after putting shocks on to hold the rear door up.

i'm sure there is a switch in there somewhere..? if you push on the door near the latch the lights go out for a minute but then pop back on

.

Turning them off works for the passenger and cargo areas but the floors stay lit up so i've been disconnectoing the battery for the last couple nights. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank You

The lights will come on with the handle is pulled up and hatch is opened. The latch mechanism on the hatch door could be loose. Try tightening the bolts there first.

Most likely the switch for the rear door.

 

Pull the bulb (s) for the floor lights until you figure it out instead of having to disconnect the battery every night.

Most of us have added a washer or two under each side under the striker and that solves it. Cheap and a easy place to start.

If you still have it or it returns try the spare tire rack on back, there is a striker there also under the door on exterior of truck, bad contact there caused mine to act same way until I replaced it.
