heater fan switch trouble

so i put in a used heater switch that the owner said it worked fine but still i only have the hi setting working could he have been wrong or is there something else that can fail?

Your blower motor resistor needs to be replaced.

ok i will try his motor i have it too but i was told everything was done by the switch?

and also how can i change the resistor its self?

The resistor is in the cooling unit behind the glove box.

yeah just found out my 98 is back by the fire wall under the blower motor with 4 wire connector the 97 donor truck had it behind the glovebox with 3 wires i do have another 98 donor truck for parts but have to drive to go get it thanks everyone for the fast help!!!
