Thorley headers CA smog

Recommended Posts

Yes, they are smog legal and my truck recently passed Ca smog with a complete aftermarket/custom exhaust. I don't believe there is any others that are legal in Ca.

B, did they check the location of your cat to be sure the Front face of it is wihtin 3" of its original location? Appearantly thats a CARB law... I just wonder if they enforce it at all?

The guy did not comment, but yes, mine is within 3" of the orininal location and yes, that is the CARB law. Actually, I doubt he checked, what is he to measure to and where does he get that information from?

i found it impossible to bring the cat any closer than the original location on top of the last frame crossmember

i think the truck was designed without the catalytic converter in mind so there isn't much room for one

if i lived in a state that did not require inspections, i would just leave a test pipe in that location
