cooling system help

hi

my terrano doesnt get over 1/5 hot but when i take the cap of radiator when cold there is no coolent in the top its dry

 

no water in oil at all pump was replaced before i bought the car

 

is the coolent/water meant to flow around radiator like other cars do

 

its never gotten hot maybe 3\4 when im running air con then it does down to 1/5 after a while

 

all runs with out air con always on 1/4 for heat its anoying cause i would like to know whats happening

I would start with topping up the coolant. Also when was the thermostat last replaced?

I would look at the thermostat as well.

If the radiator doesn't stay full your cap could be bad. Also make sure the reservoir tank has coolant in it and the hose from the tank to the radiator has no leaks.
