Hello from San Diego

Hello all! I just picked up a 94XE from a good buddy of mine. In fact, he already posted up his adventures driving it down from Washington here. I haven't taken any pictures of it yet, so he's will do for now.

I'm not very knowledgeable about cars, much less Pathfinders, but I'm stoked to learn everything I can about them. I had a 85 VW Vanagon that was an awesome dog and camping car. I'm pretty excited to take the pathfinder offroad to places where there aren't a bunch of people so my dogs can run around.

I'll probably be lurking a bit and asking a bunch of newbie questions, but I'm glad you guys are around. From what I've seen reviewing the site over the last couple of days, the people here really know there stuff.

Cheers!

Welcome aPathy, I like the name.

I remember that truck/trip. What happened to your buddy and why did he sell it? Don't want to pry, just asking.

Anywho, we'll help you when we can. If you can't find it or still have a question, let us know. :aok:

Thanks for the welcome, B!

My buddy happens to be one of those guys who luck always upon. After a long series of events, he ended up getting his Jeep back and let me take the pathy off his hands. I'd been eying it out for awhile. I guess I'm pretty lucky too!

Welcome! What part of SD are you in (just curious)? I have family just north of San Diego (near the Ted Williams pkwy) and have been out there several times. A little jealous of the warm weather at times but we get good snow and mud out east so that makes up for it. Lots of good info on the boards and I'm sure you'll find something valuable here.

Morning, k9sar and thanks for the welcome. What do you mean warm weather? It's been in the 60s all weekend! Jk. I am definitely lucky to be living down here where it's nice and warm. Haven't been offloading out here but ive heard that there are a lot of great desert trails that I'm itching to get on.

I know that area of san Diego very well. It's just south of wine country, a favorite spot of ours. Cheap wine and all you can drink tastings make for a great weekend! Where are you from back east?

A simple welcome from me, and what's up with the ski rack or whatever it is? Looks like it's modeled after a church window

You got it almost right, nunya... That's the stained glass carrier. I thought it was standard in the "hope and pray" package. :D

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the rack was removed, never to be seen again, when the rig was stolen from my buddy. I alluded to it a bit earlier, but basically the pathy was stolen but then found in perfect condition. The guy who stole it removed the fender flares, tire carrier, and roof rack, and put them all in the back of the truck--sans roof rack.

I put the tire carrier back on because I like how it looks but I haven't put the fender flares back on. I kind of like how it looks without them. If I ever get around to tacking pictures I can show you guys the difference.
