  1. Hey, Path. I took my pathy out last weekend for the first time and had a blast! We just went out to a pretty easy trail in the desert. It was my first time wheelin and I'm definitely hooked. You going to add anything to your truck? Mine's pretty stock right now so I'm making a list of things to get and add. -a
  2. Thanks for the link, caddy. I found this link from nunya's suggestion http://www.factorynissanparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214081&chapter=&sectionids=0,7184&groupid=52010&subgroupid=8382&make=25&model=Pathfinder&year=1994&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=2 but it looks like your diagram breaks all the specific parts out. Appreciate all the help. -a
  3. Cool, thanks for the tips. I'll track down akorhol and check out the part outs to see if I have any luck. For anyone else reading the thread, do you have any thoughts on the link I posted in the initial post to parts.com? It looks like it was only $15, so not sure if that is the park I need. Thanks for helping out a newbie! -a
  4. Hi, nunya. Thanks for the great pictures. Currently, I don't have any internal hardware in the back of a pathy. I just took a picture to show you what is back there now. The little plastic part with holes in it pops off to reveal two screws or bolts... which I just realized I should have taken a picture of as well. There is an indent in the floor of the back of the hatch which fits the spare tire perfectly. Do you know of any place (online or otherwise) that sells these types of brackets? The pick and pull I went to yesterday only had three pathys and all had exterior tire carriers. I saw a couple of other junk yards when I was leaving yesterday (didn't have a chance to stop) that specialized in foreign cars, so maybe I'll have more luck there. At least I have a better idea of what I'm looking for thanks to your information. Thanks for the help! -a
  5. Good morning, all. I'm looking for some help locating the necessary hardware for an interior spare tire carrier. The 1994 XE I recently picked up didn't come with a factory exterior spare tire mount. One of the previous owners installed an aftermarket exterior carrier that just attaches to the bumper, but it rattles around too much for my likings and doesn't seem very secure, so I took it off. I went to the local pick and pull and found a factory exterior carrier that looked like it may work. However, after reading through the posts about mounting it I feel that my limited mechanical skills wouldn't be up to the task. So, I'd like to use the interior carrier to keep the tire secure and tucked out of the way inside the truck. I've read some of the posts that debate the pros and cons of interior, exterior, and roof mounting spare options and I think for right now I'd like to try to interior mount method. I've searched and scoured the forums here and the google but haven't found much of anything. I've found some references to it, but no clear pictures or ideas of the hardware needed to mount the tire inside. Somehow I ran across this --http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/index.cfm?action=getPartLocator&siteid=2&chapter=AEF3615&sectionids=0,7184&groupid=52010&subgroupid=8382&makeid=25&model=Pathfinder&year=1994&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0-- no pictures or description, so not sure if it even applies. I appreciate any help you guys can provide. -a
  6. You got it almost right, nunya... That's the stained glass carrier. I thought it was standard in the "hope and pray" package. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the rack was removed, never to be seen again, when the rig was stolen from my buddy. I alluded to it a bit earlier, but basically the pathy was stolen but then found in perfect condition. The guy who stole it removed the fender flares, tire carrier, and roof rack, and put them all in the back of the truck--sans roof rack. I put the tire carrier back on because I like how it looks but I haven't put the fender flares back on. I kind of like how it looks without them. If I ever get around to tacking pictures I can show you guys the difference. -a
  7. Morning, k9sar and thanks for the welcome. What do you mean warm weather? It's been in the 60s all weekend! Jk. I am definitely lucky to be living down here where it's nice and warm. Haven't been offloading out here but ive heard that there are a lot of great desert trails that I'm itching to get on. I know that area of san Diego very well. It's just south of wine country, a favorite spot of ours. Cheap wine and all you can drink tastings make for a great weekend! Where are you from back east? -a
  8. With either the swapping out of the rear seat hinge pins or changing out the bolt that secures the seat to the floor, are there any long-term durability or safety concerns? Sorry if this topic is done but I just joined recently and wanted to do this mod in my 94XE. In Steevo's link he put some ammo boxes to increase the flat surface to support a mattress. For those of you who did this mod, what other things do you put back there to support a mattress? Thanks! -a
  9. Thanks for the welcome, B! My buddy happens to be one of those guys who luck always upon. After a long series of events, he ended up getting his Jeep back and let me take the pathy off his hands. I'd been eying it out for awhile. I guess I'm pretty lucky too! -a
  10. Hello all! I just picked up a 94XE from a good buddy of mine. In fact, he already posted up his adventures driving it down from Washington here. I haven't taken any pictures of it yet, so he's will do for now. I'm not very knowledgeable about cars, much less Pathfinders, but I'm stoked to learn everything I can about them. I had a 85 VW Vanagon that was an awesome dog and camping car. I'm pretty excited to take the pathfinder offroad to places where there aren't a bunch of people so my dogs can run around. I'll probably be lurking a bit and asking a bunch of newbie questions, but I'm glad you guys are around. From what I've seen reviewing the site over the last couple of days, the people here really know there stuff. Cheers!
