tyres a little help

hi all

 

i was looking at my 4x4 yesterday when i noticed my wheels are diff

 

the theres 235/75s and 225/80s is this a problem this is how i got the car didnt even notice till yesterday

 

and when i buy tyres do i look for light truck or 4WD & RV Tyres

 

they are all r 15s

You wanna run the same size all the way around on a 4x so when you DO use it both axles spin the same speeds. I don't personally know the difference in said sizes but I'd personally at least look for some decent matching pre-owned ones.

not a huge difference in size, but over time (in 4x4) it'll damage the transfer case. as for the tyre selection, it all depends on what you want to do with the truck. in a work vehicle ie: heavy loads and heavy towing you'd want a light truck tyre, but most good rv tyres would be 6 ply and can handle it.

if you want to get busy offroad, go for a decent set of muds or all terrains, or you could talk to your local tyre shops to see whats available.

have a good look through the forums and see what people are using on their trucks.

just my opinion though :shrug:
