DanielB
Hi All, Just wondering if anybody has intercooled the TD27 (2.7 diesel turbo)? I have a very tidy '95 Jap import, wide body, four door. But with this engine, it's pretty gutless (I'm used to the Isuzu 3.1 in a Mu(Jap Amigo), which felt like it had literally twice the power). I'm hoping to set up for offroad use but know from experience that a bit of power definately helps (besides I'm sick of everything leaving me for dead at the highway on-ramp). I'm thinking top mount, using a Isuzu bighorn intercooler, or maybe a Mitsubishi one. Bighorn appeals, as I can use the slick looking bonnet scoop. Any suggestions or photos of exisitng installs? Are there any of these diesel vehicles in the States? Or is it solely the V6 over there? Thanks.
MY1PATH
its only petrol over here vg30 v6 and z24 L4. But, I do know with some modifacation to the injection pump you can make a noticeable differance. One of the guys on this site talked about it maybe he will chime in and then intercooling will def add some power as well. I belive The 2 combined will allow your TD27 to rival any stock vg30 and maybe even vg33 as far as torque output.
