So as you can see in the picture below...

I have an aftermarket condenser from Spectra Premium and an aftermarket reciever/drier from 4 Seasons. The nut on the condenser refuses to go on the fitting of the drier. It just starts tightening and then jumps back off. I think I am going to sand down the thread on the drier. Is there anything else I can do? This drove me up the wall today because all that hard work and this stupid nut just doesn't want to go anywhere.

Through my eyes it looks like that line ain't in strait, might have to have it dead on to thread on... I don't know how much play there is on the nut personally

Can you take the drier back to where you bought it and see if it will screw onto a condenser that they may have in stock? or just exchange it for another drier, threads may be messed up on either the drier or the condenser. Do you have the old drier or condenser to try on either of the new parts? May be able to determine which part if any has bad/wrong threads.

Try loosening the dryer from its mount, and loosen the other fittings. This will give you some "play" and you may manuver it around to get the threads to line up. Got a tap and die set? You could grab the thread gauge and measure the threads and see if they are the same.

I am afraid that the threads are messed up on the condenser as it will not fit any drier, not even my old stock one. Looks like I will be mailing the condenser back to RockAuto and trying another one I ordered directly from a mechanic, which is USA made, not that chinese bull@!*%.

also may not be the threads but the "bevel" or "bead" they have called out...it looks a lil big and may not allow you to get good thread engagement and then even still it may not "compress" the flange to get a good seal...the AC lines i've designed usuaylly have a flat side toward the flare nut where you have a seal

Ok I got a new condenser and a new drier in there and that side now fits fine. However I had trouble now fitting the stuff on the other side as the hole was a few nanometers smaller than the high pressure fitting. If it leaks when I'm charging, someone is going to get yelled at. fskc!!!!!
