auto trans question

When ever I am getting up to speed where the trans would shift into the top gear the tranny won't shift up unless I left off the gas slightly for a second, also does this if I nail the throttle and hold it down, The trans in this PF was installed by the previous owner and he got it from a junkyard so I have no idea when/if the trans was ever serviced, when I first got the PF running I checked the fluid and had to add some. Would having the trans serviced/flushed help this do you think??

It may help to get it flushed, and replace the stock cooler, if you haven't already.. I have noticed mine will hold a gear with a certain throttle pressure and when I let up a bit, it will drop into the next gear, but this is only while I have it in "power" mode.

Another thing to note, if you hit the throttle hard from a stop, the transmission will automagically go in to power mode, until you ease up on the skinny pedal, then it goes back to Normal mode.

I think mine did the same think, but make sure your just not noticing the convertor locking up.It will drop a few hundred rpm when it does this. They will also doe this when cold, mine would run at nearly 3k before kocking the convertor and dropping to 2600 at 55.
