I Know This Has Been Covered But Can't Find It!

I have used the search option and could not find an answer! I can get an 01 engine with wiring and computer for $600 but is it the same bellhousing bolt pattern? Any help would be great!

the 01 should be a VG so yes...but you're going to have a lot of issues to work through...you'll need the speed sensor, o2 sensors, cluster, any other control modules that may be in the harness and if u have an auto i would convert it to MT but you'll have to work around the brake and shifter interlocks...there's a lot of other things i'm probably missing...

I will be using the Mega-Squirt computer so I can custom tune it! It is a MT! I will try the search! I guess it is worth it so I will try it! Thankyou for your help!

2001-2004 is not a VG engine, it is a VQ3.5L. Couldn't tell you if it will bolt in or not tho.

I don't think they'll mate to the tranny.

VQ series engines WILL NOT bolt to VG series transmissions.

It is a VG33ER so I think I will grab it! YEAH be jealous people! Wiring nightmare I think but the Megasquirt will help. I will do a thread on the swap when I get to it!

GO for it and good luck...anything is possible and it's nice to see people doing custom work to their rigs...a lot of folks told me i could never get the 95 in my 87...not many folks would have done the work but that's what makes part of my rig unique...I've probably got over 500 hours turning wrenches on my truck if not more
