Exhaust Rust?

Recently I have been hearing a lot of rattling at around 1500 rpm's and I finally got underneath my pathfinder and noticed that part of the exhaust had snapped off at the clamp holding it in place right underneath the driver side door. But after looking closer, it looked like it was just a cover that was in between the exhaust and the floor. Does anybody else have this problem?? could it be because there are 2 different metals (one being the exhaust cover and the other being the clamp) causing each other to corrode?? I'm not too worried about the piece because it is only about a foot long, but the entire exhaust system is pretty rusted and was maybe considering buying a new system? any recommendations?

i had to take the braket off completely, it rusted clean loose. as far as the rattling goes, take it to an exhaust shop and have em zip through all the heat shield covers and take em out. no point in having them except up by the engine bay. took mine off a few months ago.
