Been trying to locate where the end of my auto shifter cable goes to.. Its the cable on the right hand side (pasenger side) of the shifter.just found out today that it was just tucked under the dash and my shifter shifts even without depressing the brake pedals..It was probably yanked by the thief who stole my truck... Any help is greatly appreciated

thanks guys

I guess they were messing with the shift lock?

That cable goes from the left hand side of the base of the Trans shift control to the range selector. On this end it is held on by a bracket that is part of the cable.

There is a metal clamp under the center console half way along the cable, sort of looks like a hairpin, it has a screw that holds the cable to the floor and in place. There is also an E clip holding the cable in place on the base of shift control Perhaps one or more of these got ripped out so the cable moves around now.

I can send you the diagrams if you want.
