bandit22re
not sure if it was ever done in my pathfinder its got 120k miles now. i bought it with about 80k. i heard u shuld replace it at 100,000 but it seems to be okay. well i was wondering if it broke on the road would that fskc up my engine. or would it have to just slip and grab again to ruin it. how big of a job is it to do? how long can they go for? Simon
Change it. They are interference motors, which means 99.9% chance, if it snaps, you make valve soup. Edited November 30, 2009 by Simon
morpheus
I've seen guys push it to double the recommended change interval and be fine. I've seen guys go 10,000 miles over the recommended change interval and the belt breaks. Moral.. Unless you're a gambling person, and willing to gamble a $5000 engine repair, then change it. SilverPath
It is not a hard job at all. Can be done in an afternoon or morning depending who you are, there is a guide on here that makes it real simple to do yourself. Grab a case(or 2) of your favorite beverage and go to town
