95 auto trans issues

i gots me a 95 oathy with an auto trans well i pulled into a subway for dinner tonight went in ate came out and went to back up and no reverse... gimme some ideas here please tight on cash and only mode of transportation.. i dunno what else to do any help will be greatful

Change the fluid, drop the pan and clean the magnet off and the filter screen if possible.

just had the trans flushed and all that jazz cost my 100 bucks and still nothing no reverse at all.. u can kinda feel/hear the selenoids engage but thats it...it just revs up

Is your transfer case shifter in the proper position?

If you lost reverse, that transmission needs to be rebuilt.

Yeah, most of the time, if you lose reverse, the tranny is giong, not clompletely gone, but on deaths door.

Like was said, but all the fluid changes won't help if the tranny cooler (bottom of the radiator) is clogged. This may be the cause but it sounds like the damage is already done. Sorry...

 

As I understand, reverse requires higher pressure to function correctly.
