Procomp M/T

Hi All,

I'm after opinions/reviews from those who have the Procomp M/T [not the extreme version] on their 4x4. My own tire history has taken me from Cooper ST's which were fab to Bridestone 693's which are ok... The Procomp's near me are the cheapest per tire by about £25 and I like the fact they're siped.... but i've read reports online of very weak sidewalls which is a concern for me. So over to your experience!

thanks all

Harv.

procomp was also in a big lawsuit for their tread coming off or something like that.

I've never used em and news of that lawsuit a while back deterred me.

However; I have been very happy with my Nokian Vatiiva MT's, a little more expensive but there are plenty-o-tires that will burn bigger holes in your wallet.

I'd like to know too, a couple places here are doing a 4 for 3 sale and I need new rubber. I don't doubt the sale has something to do with the lawsuits but still nice to know.

Those look like pretty solid tires. I've heard a lot of good regarding Nokian rubber. And I hear the pricing is quite reasonable, too. :aok:

I think it was about 1200 out the door for 5 of them mounted and balanced. they just did a re-balance for me for free last month.

I've got Procomp MT's on my truck, 31x10.5R15, and I'm not unhappy with them, but I think there are better tires out there. I've put a lot of KM's on mine now and have good tread wear, they are great off-road, but the on-road characteristics could be better. They are horrible is the rain (and I get a lot of rain here in Vancouver) and pretty loud (compared to other MTs). If you don't drive much in the rain or slippery snow then I'd say they would be good for you. I give mine a good beating off-road and they take the abuse. My only comparison is with Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's and BFG MT's, both I would say are better than the ProComps. But, like I said, these tires do great off-road, the price is good, and treadwear is pretty good. My big problem with them is how they behave in the rain/slush/snow on pavement.
