so i have a question

i heard some rattling up front today when i came home. i was on this trail and the only time i heard it was when i would hit a rut. i went under it and looked and all of the bearings look good still but the left side of the front sway bar seemed loose. i just didn't know if mild flexing in ruts could damage the sway bar

My guess is that the bushings are shot (not uncommon). It doesn't damage the sway bar much per se but reduces it's effectiveness and may make noise sometimes.

well i've heard the bushings are a PITA and that it's dangerous if they get too bad. i'll take a look at them tomorrow

You won't find an easier set of bushings to replace. The sway bar is just held on by a rod/long bolt, sleeve, washers, and rubber bushings. A 12mm or a 14mm deep socket and an equal size wrench or another socket is all you need to replace those. They just slide on and off. Take a good look at it, you'll figure it out.

Only thing that I found a pain was to hold the bolt while putting the bushings on, if you drop it they go all over the ground!

oh wait i read what B said wrong. somehow i got it mixed up with wheel bearings.haha
