UCA and JGC lift

Hi All,

 

i recently was giving a set of 32" tires and I would like to use them this winter instead of my stock tires. I recently put all new ball joints on the front of my 92 pathfinder. I used to have some 32" tires on the car when i bought it and they rubbed alot so I took them off and sold them. I was thinking about doing the JGC springs to raise it up and crank the tbars in the front. I guess my main question is do i really need to do the UCA if im not going to be offroading at all? How fast will my new ball joints last? what is the effect of it? Im sure these have been answered i just couldnt find it. i just read that it could wear it out if offloading and i didnt see how long it took to wear them out.

On road only use might make replacement UCA's even more important. Aftermarket UCA's that correct ball joint angles not only help make them last longer but they also allow for proper alignment. If you cannot get it align correctly you will see it in tire wear.

 

Another option for on road use might be ball joint spacers, they help to correct angles once lifted. Some have reported bad experiences with them, but I believe most of them have had a lot of off road use, where as you say it would be mostly if not completely on road.
