98 se tune up evap

Recommended Posts

I just got a 1998 se and the check engine light came on, did the auto zone thing to get the codes evap canister, it looks real easy to replace and blow the lines out. is it? any helpful hints on it?

i got the canister for 68.00 at courtesyparts.com they had it priced wrong so i guess i got a deal, i also got the valve ass. control (evap vent control valve)

Also a tune up, alota places want to charge several hundred to do it, they say the plugs are hard to get out and sometimes they rust inside and you have to take the manifold apart to get it out, now is it because they dont know theres a tool to get the plugs out or is it really hard to get em out?

the pathfinder has just over 60k on it so i wana make it last as long as possible.

any helpful hints?

you go thru water? I have heard of the canister getting water soaked (stream crossings)and that opening it and letting it dry out somtimes solves problemes.
