k9sar
I need to remove the tube that the oil dipstick goes down through. Anyone know how they come out (if at all?) Close inspection shows a half-washer looking thing where it goes into the block but it does not appear to be a snap-ring or similar. On my caravan, the holder just slips into a home but there is a bracket that bolts onto it to hold it. Nothing like that here. thoughts?
RedPath88
Looks like it just presses in (remember the bolt near the top) with locktite to seal it?? http://stan.x2o.net/Hardbody/ntb96065.pdf - Page 9 And just an FYI, when removing the oil pan http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB94-089.pdf

k9sar
I wanted to be graceful in removing it (it IS on a spare engine) but if I need to just rip the stupid thing out, I will.
unccpathfinder
yea there should be that 1 bolt that redpath mentioned and I just took a thin flat head between the base of the tube and the block and tapped it in then just gently jiggled the tube and pulled and it came right out if you mess it up i my have an extra that I could ship for the cost of shipping

The tube just comes out of the block and hangs out there in mid air.
