Posted this up on Nico as well:

 

So I was looking around my engine compartment and found this connector just hanging, tt's behind my driver's side head lamp. Anyone know what it is?

I've never seen such a connector. If you have a voltmeter, connect the test leads to the socket and find out if any switches (headlights, parking lights, turn signals, etc.) give it power.

could it be to the hood pin switch, (the rubber thing on the right) ????

[EDIT] That's what it is! You see the electrical tape that I'm using to hold it up with? That's formerly what kept it in place, needless to say the clip is broken. So what does it do now that it's connected?

yeah thats for the alarm. thieves pop the hood and go for the battery to kill the alarm, what that pin does is set off the alarm if they pop the hood. It's a nice feature to come from the factory, every other car ive owned i had to install an aftermarket one (and they always look cheaper than this nissan one).
