stock tire size

my wheels are stock crome steel. 96 se. right now i have 235 75 15's. what size tires will fit with no problems? i would like it to be off the ground a little more. does any one run 265 70 15? i dont have a lift or any mods

265/70R15 is the stock tires on an SE.That's ~30.3in. if I remember.

The stock SE wheels are 7" wide, but they are aluminum. If you have the stock chrome steelies from an XE, you need to make sure they are wide enough for a 265 tire...

I have a stock 96 SE 4x4 with 265 70 15's but like LAXMAN 0324 said mine are alloy not steel....

 

I removed my running boads since and that seemed to give a little more ground clearance or at least the illusion.

Yea, those are NOT SE wheels,a dn i doubt 265/70-15 tires will fit. Those came with 235/75-15 like you have now.
