Adjusting Headlights

I used the search feature so if there's a topic on this I missed just send me that link. Otherwise, does anybody know the procedure for adjusting headlights? (I know you turn the screws) but I'm looking for how many feet away, what size square they should shine in, etc. If anybody knows this or knows a site (I googled without too much luck) it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i like to adjust my passenger light (left side for sw) off to the side a little bit to light up the shoulder of the road. It gives me a little bit better visibility at night when i'm driving down country routes with my eyes peeled for deer

I just have my fogs set with a little toe-out (so to speak) and use them when I want a wide-angle view of the road and shoulder. They still work for fog and heavy snow too.
