how well does the stock brake master cylinder handle the huge D44 calipers? do you have to modify the proportioning valve to accommodate the huge brakes?

Or you could swap to a Chevy MC, it just takes a little bolt-hole manipulation and some brake line-end swapping.

I run the old ford f100 disks, and 11" drums in the rear.

I have to keep up on my rear drum adjustment, but it works fine normally.

You can adjust the pin in the booster a little bit to get a little more pressure. If you are just doing the D44 front, you should be fine with the stock MC. It's when you go up to the D60s and such that tend to require the Chevy swap.
