catfish1987
I have an 89 5spd. man. 3.0v6 185000+ miles probably at least 500lbs. of tools and stuff and average 16-17 mpg. My driving is bout half highway(65-70) half in town(35-45). On a recent trip out of state we put stock tires from a 01 fronter and averaged 20mpg. Also dont know bout the autos but at 70 mine sits at 3000rpm. i have a few mods they are listed on my profile hope this helps.
WiredWrong
Its strange , I'm only getting about 160 miles out of a full tank its a 87 and It runs at 3000-3900 rpm at top speed true I made the gears smaller to get more low end torque so I go from 0-60 in about 5 sec's with a full load ...... top speed being 70 and if going down hill with the wind blowing maybe 75 I've got a 3in body lift with 32's and manual locking hubs Edited November 13, 2008 by WiredWrong

88pathoffroad
GG, I hate to break it to ya but the 3-speed auto had TC lockup OD, so do all the RE4R01A 4-speeds. They all had OD with TC lockup. I just paged through my 88 FSM for the info. I could be missing one specific tranny from 86.5-87, but it'd be rare if so.
