Rear Glass hydraulic lifts

I've tried searching but couldn't find any posts on how to remove them. I used a 12mm wrench to try and take the ball off but the whole thing spins. There's nothing to grab it from spinning while I loosen the nut. Is there a trick to this? Thanks.

Use something like channel locks to grab the base, or the back side. Might try a little PB Blaster on the nut too.

thanks.. i'll try using them again... not enough to grip with the channel locks.. i'll try that PB idea as well..

I cut about 1/8 off of each side of the round piece so i could put a crecent wrench over it.

that's an idea..

 

i can try cut a slot for a flathead screw driver. i think there's enough metal to make a groove to not mess up that round piece on the outside part..

I just put a pair of needle nosed vice grips over top of the nub on the outside to the base on the inside of the glass. I then had just barely enough room to get a 10mm open end wrench on the nut in there.

thanks all for the ideas.. i ended up using some needle nose vise grips and was able to take them off...
