Leman
will this engine be able to go in my 97 4x4 pathfinder? i still have the old motor so i have all the harnesses and everything. i just need to know if it will fit and directly bolt in http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-Maxi...sspagenameZWDVW
FUELER
thats a VQ30DE, 3.0 V6, so it would be terribly underpowered in an SUV, way slower than what u already have/had. doesnt look like a direct fit. im sure u could bolt it in with some work but one has to ask WHYYY
nissandoms47
That engine actually made more power and torque then the vg33 lol.
Fukinitupagain
i just need to know if it will fit and directly bolt in I doubt that it will directly bolt in. I'm sure there's got to be some modification
FUELER
That engine actually made more power and torque then the vg33 lol. yeah with 14" wheels on a maxima, it make 190 hp drop that into a suv that weights nearly twice as much, slap on those 31" tires, and watch what happens. It'll be WD21 status.
MY1PATH
I think all the VG series motors used the same block so it may bolt up but the VG30DE heads are wider than the VG33E heads so getting it to fit may be an issue. According to wikipedia the VG33E produced 180/202 hp/tq @ the crank and the VG30DE produced 222/198 hp/tq @ the crank. So yes more power but less Torque and I belive the VG30DE was also a slightly higer reving engine with a steeper tq band where as the VG33E had a flatter tq band. In other words, at lower rpms the Vg33E will produce more a bit tq than the VG30DE making it bog more when pulling out or trying to cruise @ low to mid range rpm. FUELER
im pretty sure thats a VQ30 and not a VG30 but i could be wrong
Simon
You're correct Fueler. 95+ Max had the VQ series engines.

FUELER
Chevy 4.3!!
nissandoms47
Yeah that maxima has different gearing then the pathfinder. If you wanna swap in a dohc vh it'll be the 95 and older which dont make much more power then the sohc models unless its turbo.
