98 Pathy central locking

When I use the key to unlock and/or lock the Pathy, the lock on the door itself works and the other doors are not affected. Only the door in which I insert the key locks and unlocks. Is this normal?

The unlock/lock switch works fine and the remote key also.

It's a 98 SE fully loaded ( A/T, A/C, leather, Cruise control, moonroof...)

Your doors are working correctly, and if you have keyless...it will be 1 touch to unlock the drivers door and 2 to unlock the rest!

When its locked, try turning it towards unlock twice. IE: unlock, back to center, unlock. On my wd21 this will unlock all the doors, and its' the same on my fathers r50.

I lied. I've never actually used the key to lock/unlock my pathy so I just went out and tried it.

 

Locking or unlocking the driver door locks/unlocks all the doors in the vehicle with only one turn of the key. The passenger door only affected the passenger door no matter how many times I turned the key.

 

Turning the key to unlock twice on the drivers door set the alarm off.

I tried turning the key twice in both directions, but it only affects the door I'm putting the key in....

No man, sorry...its 2 presses on the unlock button for the key pad to unlock all doors...yours will pop first then the rest including the hatch!

I'm not talking about the button on the key pad, it's working fine as you said.

I'm talking about when you insert the key in the door to unlock the truck. The central lock is not working this way.

TMK lhere is no central locking system on SEs, only LEs got this feature.

I don't know how yours is supposed to work, but I posted how mine does. Can't say if thats the standard or what, I just know thats how it works on my 96 LE

So what remains now is to wait for someone who has the same pathy to verify....

Does anyone knows any fully loaded 98SE owners out there? Please get in touch with them so I can know for sure before attempting to disassemble the door and take a look.

The only thing my truck does when I turn the key and hold it is set off the alarm. LOL.
