  1. Okay Thanks a lot. I'm gonna try my luck at removing the kick panel and checking it out from the inside. As soon as the weather clears. If I understand it correctly, the kick panel can be easily removed: Just a screw and a metal clip holding it in, right?
  2. So incredibly grateful for your help! Can I access the exit point from under the car? Is it visible if I remove the small mud flap and take a look? I'm trying to get away without having to remove any trim from the inside as I'm sure something will break and parts are really hard to come by. But in the worst case having to remove the kick panel, can I disconnect the hose from the inside at the point where it exits the car? Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.
  3. Hawairish, thank you for taking the time to post. Is this photo of R50 Pathfinder's front driver side? I'm looking for the front driver side exit point on my 98. The exit tube is in front of the tire? Can you please show me on the diagram that I attached in my first post? Is this its location? The red circle on the diagram below? Thank you so much.
  4. Yes but I can't seem to find exactly where! Yes I pulled it aside and looked for that grommet for hours to no avail.... I wish someone has a photo of its location!

  6. Hello All, Can anyone help me locate the exit point of the front sunroof drain pipes on the driver side of my 98? I removed the wheel arch plastic cover to take a look but could not locate the exit point. I poured some water in the drain hole and it started dripping outside from under the door. I was under the impression (after a search on the forum and a look at the service manual) that the exit point should be some sort of grommet in the wheel well next to the door hinge, but for the life of me I cannot locate it! Does anyone have any photos to exactly locate it? Thank you kindly in advance.
  7. Thank you All for your input, I will check the wiring diagrams to check what I can do.
  8. Why wouldn't you do it, if you don't mind my asking. I'm reluctant to do it myself, but I think I have to find a way. What would you advise me to do in order to prevent it from being stolen? Is there a better way? A friend of mine has a Hard Body, he took it to an electrician yesterday and had him install a kill switch for him, I don't know how he did it, but now before flipping the switch on, the truck won't start, starter motor won't fire, no power to the dash but the other electricals still function, like the power windows, horn and radio etc.... Where do you think he installed it? Thank you kindly in advance.
  9. Hey All, I would like your help in installing a kill switch on my 98 4x4 Auto SE. I still have the factory alarm and remotes functioning fine, but it I think it's not enough as the thieves are getting pretty resourceful, they are even using scanners to steal recent models Grand Cherokees, so I'm worried about my Pathy cos they have are stealing older cars as well. What's the best way to install it? I know most people install it on the fuel pump relay, but if it's possible I would like to install it in a way that the starter motor won't fire at all. Is this possible and can I do it myself? All details and guides are greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly in advance.
  10. Thanks for your reply. I will go and get it replaced. Should I bother looking for the filter and cleaning it as well or there isn't any on this year's model?
  11. Thanks for your reply guys. Can you please answer some questions I'm still wondering about please? So this small leak IS the reason why my A/C is not as cold as before? Isn't there an A/C filter or the like for the 98 Pathy to clean? Maybe something is clogged up in there? I've never cleaned it before. If I want to replace that hose, will all the refrigerant escape? So I would need to refill it from empty with freon? I can wrap a stop-leak adhesive tape (used for plumbing, gas pipes and car radiator hoses) on that hose and recharge the system with the missing freon. Will that work? Thank you kindly.
  12. Hey All, I was wondering is there any filters for the A/C that I need to change? I started noticing that my A/C's cold air is not as cold as before. Is there anything that needs cleaning or replacing? Worth to note that I have a small leak in the big hose, I think it's for A/C (attached photo), it slightly leaks some oil, I suspect it's the refrigerant lubricant. Could it cause a leak in the A/C system and cause the aircon not to freeze air as it should? In the dealership they told me not to worry about it and no need to change it. Please guys, I need some help before I start going back and forth between shops. Thanks.
  13. Seems a great idea! Is there any way I can do this on my truck? Anyone has any experience with this? Thankyou.
  14. Thanks for your reply, That's weak... Is there anything we can do to improve this? I hate having to install an alarm system, because then I would have to bypass the stock alarm and for the lack of preofessionals electricians here, I'm sure it will cause me problems. Lots of cars are being stolen here and I don't know what to do. I already have a steering wheel-Pedal lock but I don't know if it's enough. Thanks guys.
  15. Hi guys, Can someone please explain to me exactly how the system works on my 98SE? I still have the stock alarm with the original key remotes and everything works fine. I just need to know in which case the truck won't turn on if it's being stolen. Knowing that the keys don't have a chip; will the alarm go off only when someone breaks into the truck with no key? If someone opens the door with a slim jim or the like, will the alarm sound? Will the engine turn on if he wire-started it for example? Sorry for all the questions and thanks
  16. Thanks for your suggestions, but I cannot find an Lucas neither The good thing is that I went to the dealership and they ran a scan on my Pathy: No error codes whatsoever!! Will keep you posted.
  17. Thanks for the replies guys. The CEL light on the dash is off (thankGod) And when you drive the truck normally you barely notice this, if at all. It seems better now, so my guess is that it might be the injector cleaner has dislodged some gunk are something. Will keep monitoring after my next refill. What do you think? Gonna try your suggestions though.
  18. Hey all, I have a 98SE AT 4x4. When I'm driving a bit hard, meaning that when climbing a slight hill not too fast (2nd) or when I'm on 2nd gear and the rpm starts to go higher (right to where it would shift to 3 if I was on D), I can feel a slight surge. I don't know how to explain it, it's like I can feel a slight variation in power... Truck has 135K, New Sparks. Dealer said it was a dirty airflow, so they cleaned it with a spray can... Still same problem. Thought I'd post here before taking it back. PS: I remember I put in half a bottle of Redex Injector Cleaner shortly before that started to happen. Don't know if it is the culprit cos the truck drives normaly when I step on the gas fast... Thanks all.
  19. Need some help here guys.... No one has any info?
  20. The air speed knob has AUTO but I never use it. The problem happens no matter on what speed I have it set. This problem happens ever since I got the Pathy a year and a half ago. Please can you provide more details about the amplifier you're referring to? Thanks.
  21. Hi guys, This is the problem I currently have with my A/C: when I turn it on, it blows regular air, not freezing. I have to then turn of the A/C switch, wait for about 20 seconds and then turn the switch back on in order for the blown air to start freezing. I sometimes have to do it a couple of times. But after that it works as normal. Freon level is good though, and I can hear the compressor turning on when I press the A/C switch. A friend of mine told me that this once happened in his VW; he told me that there is a flap or vent of some sort that opens up in order to introduce the freezing air from the A/C to the cabin. He had to change it and it worked. My question is: Could this be the problem in my case also? Is there such a thing in my 98SE? Thanks guys.
  22. Awesome Trainman, thanks! I don't have this in my 98FSM. The plastic part is what I need to remove, so I guess I just use a screw driver to pop it off then. I hope I wont need new clis cos I can't find any around here. Thanks guys for your input.
  23. Thanks kmgar99, but I have the FSM and in the Body & Trim section, they only say it has 4 fasteners.... No info on how to proceed. Thanks anyway for your time. I appreciate it. Thanks RWC5S2, I'll try it. I'll also try to get a pic of it. Thanks guys.
  24. Hi guys, Is there a way to remove the plastic trim on the rear side window on my 98SE? I've pointed to it in the pic. The reason I want to this is because the black rubber gasket (lining) under it has managed to slip entirely under it. I just want to get it back out again. Thanks all.
