Passenger side, near the inner fender well, under the hood. There's a bank of 4 electrical plugs there, on a little metal post, of sorts.

If you're curious which one exactly, follow the wire from under the truck....it runs down the passenger side of the tranny, then over top, to driver's side, and the sensor itself.

Just push in the clip and pull it apart. It'll be snug on there, as there's a rubber washer/o-ring in there to keep it from getting wet.

Forscipes on the hose in to and out of the filter to minimize fuel spillage. And like Simon I use the plier method. Sometimes you just have to cut the old hose off and replace it. The pathy's fuel filter is easier to replace than the 4th gen. Maximas. They are a chore.

MAKE SURE YOU RELIEVE THE FUEL PRESSURE BEFORE YANKING THE HOSES OFF THE FUEL FILTER.

even when the engine is off, there is still a lot of pressure in the lines and I have had one of my hoses slip off before I relieve the pressure and it was like a geyser! PPFFFFOOOSSSSHHHHH!!!

remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel, then crank the engine a few times until it just wont run. and remove the gas cap.
