henz
i am considering purchasing a very clean 1992 pathfinder, but it wont start. turns over, but no injector pulse. someone else test drove the vehicle and stopped at a gas station, then it magically wouldnt start again, maybe coincidence, maybe not. any suggestions on what to check next? its a really good deal because the body and interior are excellent but it does have 250k on it.... thanks in advance. adamzan
Probably the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. That happened to my friend the other day, his car was working fine and then it just wouldn't start. Turns out the fuel pump crapped out.
Simon
Turn the key to the on position, but don't crank it. You should hear the fuel pump run from the back of the truck. If not, good chance it's the sending unit on top of the tank. The fuel pumps don't go that often on these things, but the sending unit's are very common to go, especially in climates where salt is used on the roads. Failing that, check the fuel pump fuse, and/or the fuel pump relay.
