Snow Chains

I have used chains on the front (of a 4wd vehicle), where clearance allowed, but only very very short distances to pull my way through something. Generally, they are best on the rear. Many of the vehicles with strut type front suspension do not have the clearance required for chains on the front.

And what does your owners manual say?

My philosophy on chains is they should be used to get you out of somewhere. If you are needing them to get into some place, you probably should not be there. No room for error if you do get stuck with the chains on.
