I just read about exhaust bolts/recall in another post... my pathfinder makes a sound when i start it that sounds like a valve around the pass side head of the engine. But the sound fades away after it is warm.. can the exhaust bolt cause that? anyone have this issue? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GrimGreg Posted November 13, 2007 Share Posted November 13, 2007 That is either the exhaust bolt broke or you are using an oil filter without a anti-backflow valve and getting lifter tick till it gets oil. Does it last under 15 seconds or does it last about 2-3minutes after startup? If it goes away quickly it is just the lifter complaining. As for actual recalls the only real valid one is the exhaust studs, but only if you have under 100k on the odo. Otherwise there is lifetime warranty on all the seatbelt components (due to saftey). 94extreme Posted November 13, 2007 Share Posted November 13, 2007 the stud thing is really just a rumor.. it never was a recall.. the seatbelt, the female end, is the only real recall on wd21s. the tranny cooler and frame should have been recalled too but they got away with it.
