german996
Hi there, just wanted to know if to install the auxilary driving lights on top of the front bumper, the bumper itself has to be taken off , or if you can measure and drill just taking the grill off and tighten the bracket mount from behind? any help or suggestion will be deeply appreciated german996
Simon
I think you'd be better off to remove the bumper. There's only 2 bolts per side, accessible via the wheel wells.
german996
I was afraid of that answer, u happen to know the size of the nuts by any chance , like by heart, thanks for ur help, German996
Simon
They're bolts.... they go into captive nuts on the frame (or a bracket welded to it). I believe they're 12mm head.....but don't quote me on that. Could be as large as 14mm, but I don't even think they're that big.

Simon
Heh...lucky for you I've installed my ARB on 2 different trucks this year (killed my old one) so I'm sort of familiar with the process on the front bumper removal!

LD50
I took off the vents/signal lights recessed in the bumper to access the studs on my lights, worked well.
german996
Hey TD50, that sounds even better, will definetly try to do it that way this weekend, thank you for your idea... german996
Mr. Pickles
If you can find the spots where you want to mount the lights, and drill the bumper first, you might just loosen the bolts Simon mentioned, and maybe even those from the bracket to the actual bumper (you have to loosen nuts from behind the bumper/bracket on a 95), but not remove any of them. That should give you enough slack room to mess with things and/or put in new wiring, but you can skip the PITA job of aligning the bumper brackets back through the body, lining them up to bolt on, etc. etc.
unccpathfinder
I think it can be done with the bumper on still...figure out where you want them...make sure you have good clearance on everything drill the holes through get an extension bar and a socket (may have to put a piece of paper or something in the socket to keep the nut at the top so you can get it started on the threads...then tighten her up...run all your wires and your good...coat hangers work good for getting wires in places you cant reach...like up the inside of the fender and out by the door jamb...then I cut a little hole in the OEM boot and passed the wires in there for the switches... 88pathoffroad
I've put three different sets on without removing the bumper. There's ample room inside the bumper to reach your hand and a ratchet in there to tighten a nut...
Mr. Pickles
I've put three different sets on without removing the bumper. There's ample room inside the bumper to reach your hand and a ratchet in there to tighten a nut... Ample room if you have pygmy hands! But yea, its do-able. Simon
Yeah....that's my thought too Mr. P. As Skrilla says, I have "Amish Hands" No way I'm fitting them in there to do any work. Taking the bumper off takes less than 10 minutes....so I don't see any need to fight my way through it with the bumper still on.
german996
Oficially the installation can be done without removing the bumper , accesing by removing the aux light panel and lights as LD50 said, it was a very smooth procces and easy acces with a ratchet and a 17 mm deep wall socket, the painfull part was to run the wires from the engine compartment into the dash area, but it is now all done, thank you for your suggestions....
