mkaresh
my car is not on your list, infiniti qx4 was made from 1997-2004 and your list of choices omits it completely It's listed as "QX-Series." Is this confusing? This designation might make more sense for the QX56 than it does for the QX4.
mkaresh
Updated results soon. So far, 285 Pathfinder owners and 40 QX4 owners signed up. A good start, but more needed to cover all model years from 1995 on. For the details, and to enroll: Vehicle reliability research
mkaresh
We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2001: 99, about average, close to "better than average," marginal sample size The 2002 fell a couple responses short of the minimium for a partial result. A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates with additional model years in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. mkaresh
We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2003: no repairs reported by any of the 14 participants 2002: 137, worse than average 2001: 87, about average In all three cases the same sizes are small. Taking them all together, the repair frequency is probably around 80 for all three years, and close to "better than average." More participants needed to provide precise results and cover all model years. A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. TheCrow
I just enrolled my R50 2005 model , yes I know it is confusing but here in this part of the world we still had R50 pathfinders till year 2005
mkaresh
What part of the world would that be? Also, please contact me, as it might make the most sense to change the year of your vehicle to 2004 for the purposes of this survey.
FUELER
he is in lebanon. truedelta looks like its based in USA so yes 2004 would make sense. example, in japan R50 was made from 1995-2005 USA its only 1996-2004
mkaresh
Thanks for helping to sort that out. Most of our members are from the U.S. and Canada, but we have about a thousand outside North America. Figuring out how models compare in different regions can certainly be tricky. Long term we'll probably have separate results for each region.
mkaresh
Updated results next month for the 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003. In all four cases these will again be partial results--still not enough responses for full results. Of course, I'd like to have full results for all years. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved. Not yet signed up? Details here: Car reliability research

mkaresh
Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record. As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants next month. mkaresh
Updated stats in about two weeks. It looks like we'll once again have partial results for the same four model years. The goal, of course, is full results for all model years in future updates. Just need more participants.

mkaresh
Starting this month we have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this. Also this month: updated reliability stats. As always, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone. It's not unheard of for the one model year to be significantly better in reliability than other model years. Particularly the last model year right before a major change, in this case, the 2001 models got a different engine. Though the 1996-2004 Pathfinders are grouped together, the 2001-2004 model years have differences from the preceding models.
