I am putting in a rebuilt automatic transmission. Now i want to clean the inside of the transmission lines

(to and from the cooler) I think i have to use hi pressure, lots of metal pieces in the oil from the old transmission.

I'm replacing the trans. oil cooler also. Can anybody tell me what is the best way to do this and with what to clean it ?

Thanks

An idea to pressure flush in your driveway:

Use a 1 gallon garden sprayer - you know, the type with the hand pump sticking out the top and a hose with a wand...

Take the nozzle off the sprayer.

Fill sprayer with a gallon of solvent.

Disconnect both lines from trans.

Adapt the hose to fit on one line.

Stick the other line in a bucket.

Pump the sprayer up and flush solvent through lines and cooler.

Let metallic particles settle out in bucket overnight.

Carefully pour clean solvent off top back into sprayer.

Repeat pumping through the opposite line.

If still particles coming out, repeat again.

Put a decent Magnet in the bucket as well... Strain the fluid back through a Screen and coffee filter....

Thanks,

The old transmission is already of the car and I'm waiting 4 the rebuilt transmission to come.

The oil lines r hanging in my garage waiting to be cleaned. The cooler is going to be replaced

(new) so its only the lines who need to be cleaned. This is going to work, thanks guys.

Cleaned the lines yesterday with carburetor cleaner i used the whole can. I soaked it all out

till only the radiator cleaner liquid came out clean of the lines. After that i used my dive thank

to put some high pressure true the lines to clean and dry them out. Worked great.
