csutke
i have a hitch, i use the pin that secures the hitch in the receiver, my strap also have loops on it and that is where the pin goes
projekz
mine had tow hooks attached to the frame rail under the bumper. I had to remove them to install my hitch...I'm sure they were factory installed.
Simon
I use the tiedown points at the rear (loops) with shackles for rear recovery. They work well.
denisb
I don't get stuck and use the front hooks to pull out Jeeps and see their owners faces when they get dragged across the mud holes OK, ok, I've been known to get stuck and I usually use a hitch receiver with a loop welded on. FUELER
Be careful with the OE rear tow hooks. They are not designed for off-road recovery. I broke both of them at the same time on a crashed 96 Pathfinder winching it out of a ditch. The winch cable flew and slammed the cab of my tow truck and left a dent the size of a softball. Pretty scary stuff. Edited August 8, 2007 by FUELER
bryfry
Be careful with the OE rear tow hooks. They are not designed for off-road recovery. Correct! Those are installed just for shipment. They use them to secure the vehicle on it's journey from the far east and also on the truck car carriers. Just like FUELER said, they are limited in their holding power!
