Oil Coolers...

Has anyone actually tried installing an oil cooler in an R50? It seems like the Hayden 291 can fit on a 96-98 Pathfinder.. I'm looking to do some cooling on nearly any fluid I can, and I figure an oil cooler cant hurt. Anybody have any advice on how to do this?

You'd need to tap and install oil line fittings on the block and oilpan (I think) or just get an external oil filter kit and use high-pressure hose to put the oil cooler inline with the external filter. I plan on running an oil cooler when I put my filter kit and headers on, just for that added security. It's a good idea, just not really necessary.

I would just use one made for an xterra, frontier. The only difference in the oil filter mount is that the R50 points the oil filter straight down so it can clean the PS pump bracket while the frontier has it at a 45 degree angle outward for easier access because the ps pump is mounted on the other side.
