87pathfinder4banger
i've got a question. my rear sway bar has had one of it's linkages broken a month ago 4x4'ing. i know that this gives me more flex offroad, but it is causing the body to roll big time and Im not sure if this is gonna cause my shocks to be overworked and decrease their lifespan as i have just installed them. does anyone know this?? 88', i'm guessing you do?? MatterHorn
the rolling motion doesn't cause the shocks to move as much as say hitting a speed bump or pothole ... the wear is most likely negligible
88pathoffroad
No...that's what they're supposed to do anyway. I wouldn't worry about it. What you should worry about is either overextending or compressing a shock too far. That could damaged the inner rebound bumpers and blow an oil seal on the shock itself.
