SteveWA
Hey all, Been a fair while since I've logged in here. Can't believe I remembered my password! Firstly this forum solved my problem of my 94 Pathy running like crap down to an O2 sensor. Which leads to my first question. My buddy is a mechanic and we hooked the Pathy up to the machine and couldn't find anything amiss. I also changed the plugs and fuel filter. Probably needed it anyway as I don't know how well the last owner looked after it. He also hooked a little computer up to measure the O2 sensor. He said it looked a bit weird. Said as the engine was running it should flick to showing rich and lean as the computer adjusts from the sensor input. It was basically running between normal and lean all the time. But the Pathy was running ok at that particular time. Would only run badly on the odd ocasion. Mainly when cold it seemed. Anyway seeing where the connector was for the sensor I decided to unplug it altogether after barely making it up the street one morning. Since I have unlpugged it, it has ran sweet ever since. The fuel economy seems to be even better than when I bought it and it was running fine then. So after all that here's question No 1. 1. I haven't bothered to replace the sensor. Just left it unplugged. Will I do any damage to anything by doing this? Never got the codes as I forgot to print out the instructions before taking it to him. His Snap-On code reader was acting funny the day I took it in. Question 2: Did the 94 4 Door Pathy's come with Roof Racks as an Option? Mine has roof racks and I am looking for some fishing rod holders that mount on the racks. I live on the ocean here in Western Australia and fish all the time. A 12 foot beach rod, even in 2 pieces is hard to fit inside the Pathy. I can't see any markings on my roof rack that tell me it's OEM or after market. Anyway sorry for the long story. Thanks for your help! Steve
SteveWA
Sorry I was in such a rush I didn't bother to scroll down and see there was an Australia/NZ section now. Shows ya how long since my last visit! A mod can move this post if they deem it necessary.
RedPath88
I don't think it need to be moved.... those sections are more for region specific chat All years of the WD21's had the optional roof rack... with the exception of mine and a couple other obvious ones you should have no problem matching your rack up to another using the photos on this board.. most of them with racks have stock racks
88pathoffroad
Leaving the O2 sensor unplugged should keep the ECU in closed-loop mode (or was it open-loop? I forget) where it operates on preset values for fuel and timing. That's about it. You'll get better fuel economy with a new O2 sensor, most likely.
