The right wheels?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm new to this forum, and I am thinking about lifting my 88 Pathfinder. I'll probably be going with a Calmini 3" lift and 31" tires. I was initially wanting the tires to be 11.5" wide, but that's proving difficult to find -- so I'll probably have to settle for 31X10.5. Anyway, I was looking at cheap black steel wheels to go along with the whole package, and I found some that I like. Cragar Black Soft 8 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CRR%2D3975860&N=700+0&autoview=sku). However, I was wondering about the backspacing and offset for these wheels. I'd like the wheels/tires to be sticking outside of the wheel-well/body (I have flares that I can put on to make it legal when the cops start bitching) -- but I do not know if these puppies will do that for me. Any help from you guys? What kind of backspacing are you running? From what I hear, the less the backspacing the more the the tire will stick out. Is 4" enough to do that?

Thanks in advance...

The Calmini with 31x10.5R15 and 4"bs 15x8... I would not think that there would be any rubbing issues... Maybe some at full flex.... The only time I rub is when flexing on 33's...

Whos got the Calmini SL running 31's???

i can second that i have 31's when it was stock no rubbing no matter what. I have jeep grand cherokee v8 coils in the rear and front cranked bars lifted me 2-2.5in in the rear and 3in in the front to level the truck out. i did NOT have to reindex just crank the bars get an alignment and voila done! I'd recommend it much easier then a body lift and much cheaper.

I have the calmini lift with 31's on xe wheels. :I have not had any rubbing at all. I just dont think that the 31's look right. I have plenty of space and would even go as far as to calling it fender gap. I am looking to upgrade my wheel set as well, and was wondering if a 16 x 8 with 265 x 70s would look a bit better or fit the truck more. As it sits now it looks a little silly in my opinion.
