not that anyone is following this, but i took the pathy back to firestone today for one last try. this time they got it right. the tech said that they were out of balance by as much as 2 oz. i now have weights on both inside and outside rim lips, which he said was the ideal way to balance when possible.

also, while he had it up on the rack, i spun one of my rear wheels. LSD for me! :D a few months ago, i called my local nissan service dept with my vin and was told that i didnt have it! idiots. good thing i checked it, because my next maintenance item will be diff fluid flush and fill! wouldnt want to put the wrong stuff in.

Um do I dare poke my head in here  bah why not.

I work for Firestone in NZ * waits for the P... *

Well Glad to see they got it right. The way they balanced your tyres is called "Dynamic" well at least it is here. It's the only way to balance tyres, means you don't get a shake while high speed cornering. I normally get those jobs to do " other peoples F up's" One guy in a safari 3 times finally I did it. Put his spare on the LF no change, put it on RF....GONE Result one of his wheels was slightly buckled :aok: Another one was a BMW. Wheels always perfect...Hmmm Looked at his wheels. Front and rear were different JUST. Front one's were after market look-a-like and the centre hole was not a good fit. Found some CBL rings (centre bore locating) and was as good as gold :aok: Remember it's not the wheel nuts (lugs for you guys) that keep your wheels central it's the centre bore. It should be a nice snug fit, if not the wheel nuts can be slightly out. It'll be interesting if you take a wheel off if it shakes again, BUT DON'T TRY IT :D The anoying thing is some trucks are more suseptable to balance problems. One other thing if you get a shake through the steering whell it's the front balance, if you feel a shake through the seat then it's the rear. If at low speed ( going out your drive way) the steering wheel twitches then don't drive unless you can't spot it and swap with the spare, but go slowish right into F I R E S T O N E :P to mr 88 who wanted me to get him a deal on tyres and now disses my company :D Theres lots more I could bore you with but heck if you want to know anything else just gimmie a shout WAVEY

i know it is possible to add the LSD after factory, but that is definitely not the case for my pathy. it was leased in its former life, and the PO treated it like poo.

when i bought it, there were plenty of scratches and the interior was fairly stained. i even found a wacky pipe under the rear seats! i hope that he/she maintained the mechanicals/fluids properly. i got it with 33k on it, so hopefully the will be no significant long term issues.

i have the interior pretty clean now after a good detail. also quite a few more scratches on the exterior for authenticy! :D i also love putting $ into the pathy, mostly for maintenance so far, so it should last me for a long time! my goal is to hit 200k mi. sssh

i think my next upgrade item is gonna be the iridium plug upgrade!
