Replacing CV axels

yea, so me and a friend are going to try and do this on the weekend. he did one of his in his car a few months back, i figured this would be a fairly common problem, and i was wonderin what advice you guys could give

pull the hubs...pop off the retainer clips...then the 5 or 6 bolts on the front axle and ure done after the reinstall...

All I'd add is to jack it up under the lower control arm, pull the upper BJ bolts, then it's a whole lot easier. Make sure you don't stretch your brake line too much. Just take it easy and be careful, the knuckle/brakes are heavy. Oh, and to get the CV bolts off at the diff, put 'er in 4LO and first gear so it won't rotate.

I couldn't get mine out without removing the knuckle completely. Just undo the 4 bolts for the lower BJ, and remove the whole knuckle. I also had to unbolt the lower shock mount. As 88 said, the knuckle is heavy, so be careful if you do have to remove it.

well, i think im just going ot do the boots, it was only 30$ for the two of em, so its worth a try, plus i will throw full syn oil in there
