Oil Leak and Flickering Gauges

Hi i have a 93 pathfinder Xe with an oil leak that needs to be taken care of probably due to a gasget anyone have a similar problem? But my other problem is when i turn my lights on at night, my gauge and gear lights flicker on and off sometimes the stay off for like 1min to two which gets a bit frustrating. So ideas hit me up, thanx

Where is the leak , front, back, bottom? Little more detail is needed

it runs onto the header pipe and the skid plate infront of that but its hard to tell because theres looks like seepage every wherehttp://npora.ipbhost.com//style_images/1/icon2.gif

Get under there with some cleaner/degreaser and remove all of the leaked oil. That way you will be able to tell where it is coming from when it starts leaking again

as red said, get under there n clean it good then warm her up and watch for leaks.

 

there are many places they can leak from... such as valve covers, cam seals, rear main seal, oil pan, omg. i could go on forever.....

 

anyhoo. clean and inspect.

 

my dash light dimmer switch sometimes flickers nowadays, but if i turn it allt he way up then play with it a bit it stays bright and no flickering. check there is a good connection in the wires behind the dimmer switch.

Ohh also a random but possibly useful bit of info, no disrespect or anything but if you go into say autozone and ask for a dimmer switch they'll give you the turnsignal, low beam high beam lever, which is like 100$. So I dont know the technical name for it which could be useful later.

just a dash light dimmer switch/dial.. if they can't find it then you need to find another parts store.....

I have several dimmers from junkyard Pathys in my garage if you can't find one elsewhere.

likely a gasket, you can pick em up for a few dollars, but be sure that you do not overtighten them
