Ok I am new, I have owned a 95 pathfinder before, and it was a fun truck. I cam across a 91 pathfinder with a bad engine in it for $350.00 Not bad, but an engine is 600.00! Ok now I got a question, will a datsun 4cly engine (Z) NOT A 280z engine!! Fit on this transmission? It is a 91 2wd V6 5-speed! Thanks!

The answer is "no". The NAPS-Z engine will not bolt to the V6 transmission. None of the 4-cylinders will. Why on God's green earth would you want a 80 HP engine to move a 4200 lb Pathfinder? Ew...

WOW!! Chill out dude!!! I just have one sitting around the house, and it its not 4200lbs!! It is not even 4x4!! But thanks for the info!!

Z's should have never been called Z's when they had a 4 cyl. Engine.

I would have yelled at you for asking a  question. Paperweight or go-cart your choice. Would have said it a different way but kids may be listening.

Also 88 knows his "$%!t" better than most o the Pathy.

PS welcome to the boards ;)

I'm guessing that you mean the Z24 motor ? A great motor, but very underpowered (106hp stock). It could barely pull my D720 4x4 around, but never failed once in 10 years. Yes, I believe sw recently put a 3.0 tranny on a Z2.4 and he just had to swap out the bell housing. He claimed it wasn't too hard. I think the thread is in the Garage section, let me look.

Oops, Wrong all the way around... It was a Z24 tranny on a 2.7TD so it seems like the 4cyl and 6cyl units won't mate. Sorry
