Panel backlight on-off

Hi,

I have 2001 Pathfinder and (quite new to it) recently the backlight behind the speedometer/fuel gauge has started to loose contact.

How do I access the bulb/light? From the hood or?...

Check your dimmer switch.

 

If it is the bulb, you have to remove the cluster to get at it. You can't get at it under the hood.

It's not dimmer. Only left part of the panel doesn't have light...During the night drive, I can see my RPMs but not my speed.

And it comes on/goes off while driving over a bumpy road.

Yeah, to get at it you have to pull the cluster out and change the bulb.

 

I'll let an R50 owner explain how, I have no idea if they are like an older Pathy for dissasembly.

hmm my older trucks...when it goes out i slap the dash and it comes back on :

 

they're getting good at hiding screws and what not to remove things so be careful if u go to pulling things apart...
