wires on the ignition switch

Hi, I am trying to install a fancy auto dimming rearview mirror on my

PF98, but I got stuck in the wiring stuff.

I need to find two wires in the ignition switch, but in the manual that I bought in a store, doesn't seems to be very helpful.

The wires are basically the one that comes from the battery and the one that turn on or off the car. I'd appreciate any help,

You don't need to use wires off the Ign. Switch. Any Switched 12V source will work. Cigarette Lighter for example. If you need a constant 12V, your best bet is to run a dedicated wire (fused of course) directly to the battery.

venge is right. you just need to tap into an ACC 12v line. the two wires you are probably looking for, are

 

1) a ground wire (you can tap into the frame for this)

2) a positive 12v lead that turns on and off with the car

 

for the positive 12v, i just tapped into the driver side fuse box ACC fuse (i did this for the fog light mod)

Do you have a sunroof, the temp/compass display or map lights in the overhead console?

 

Why bother running wires down the A-pillar if you can just find +12v hot and ACC in the overhead console?

 

Constant hot is easy: just tap into the map lights. If you don't have a sunroof or the temp display, then you will need to run a wire down the A-pillar to find an ACC-switched source.
