  1. Usually run 33's Simex Centerpedes but tried on some 36's to see if they fit
  2. If your blowing black smoke might need some engine help
  3. How did you go Mullo , Was it the CV or the locking hubs . Also had my hubs serviced and they still clicked and ended up getting AVM hubs and they fixed the issue . If you still have an issue you can try mine to see if it's something else .
  4. Thanks Nick , Yeh they look better when then on . Cheers Judge , The gap is a 10mm ( 1cm ) , which allows for full sill protection offroad and if he gets T boned from another car it will offer more protection for his family , and if he can bend then i'll be extremely impressed . Cheers Dan , They were my first set of R50 Sliders and Jasun ( the now owner of them ) is happy with then so it's all good . Cheers Man , Glad you like them . Thanks Nige , Any ideas for the next set i build , was thinking of using them as an air tank as well for inflating the tyres after a beach run ?
  5. Some finished pics from the owner of the Sliders . On the left hand side of the main page you will see the the link to sliders . http://s954.photobucket.com/albums/ae28/JA55EE/
  6. This is all that mine has . Oil presure gauge and shifter gauge .
  7. Cheers Dave , ours will be as solid but the mounting will be different . Cheers Mate , and i needed some of to work out the angles . Cheers Mate , they were built to Jasuns specs . Thanks Ty , yeh the Pathy will bend before the Sliders will . Thanks Nick , are these what you were thinking of . If you like them that much we can work something out .
  8. A couple of new pics with side rail .
  9. Cheers Mate , Yeh thier mig welds from a Cigweld transmig 165 . Have the mates Stick and Tig here but for that thickness of plate i prefer Mig .
  10. Some pics of the next stage . The rear bracket . Both sides are front and rear mounts finished . Still the 2 middle mounts to do and the side pipe to put on .
  11. Thanks Ty ,if you still like the finished product can work something out . Were both on thier just not a lot , i have a look and a couple of comments but not a regular like here . Can put the R50 sliders build-up thread on thier as well . These Sliders are being built to what Jasun wants ! , so the plans can get changed for different specs . Jasun is his forum name and mines Cyril . Does PCoA need a donation too .
  12. Yeh 20yrs in the trade comes in handy . The owner is keen to test them out .
  13. Possibly , Jason with a black R50 .
  14. Cheers ,The Sliders will be fully welded but will be bolted to the Pathy for removal when not needed . They will have 4 attachment points with the 3 OME mounts and an extra 1 between the first and second mounts area . Cheers , Yes it is . Cheers , the first pic does'nt show the other plate welded on the other side . It's both 6mm plate with 40sq x 4 ( will be fully welded ) with 10mm 8.8 grade bolts also through the 6mm plates front front to back . Agree that SQ is stronger than plate but with the use of 6mm plate and 40SQ x 4 and only 150mm long will be impressed if it bends . Was going to use the three mounts and add a 4th between the first and second position . Thanks for the pics , nice sliders . Yes it is a full wrap around bracket out of 6mm plate and will be bolted through the mount 2 bolts through and the original 2 bolts up . With 40SQ x 4 side arms and 50SQ x 5 slider and still to be done tube for the side rail ( 32NB ) Will keep this updated with pics .
  15. G'Day all R50 owners , Have been building these for a fellow Pathy owner and was wondering what your opinion was . Sorry about the pics it's just been in the last week ( last sat ) . Cheers , Cyril
  16. If you can't get one , you could always move to Australia
  17. Or you could do an engine transplant ?
  18. Have tried the Rancho 5000 series and found them to bouncy , have been using Tough Dog Foam Cell shocks ( first set lasted about 7 yrs and still handled better than the Rancho's , imo ) , then tried the Rancho's and removed them to but another set of the Tough dogs . Just found them more stable but then again I do alot of beach driving , but am still happy with thier Bush handling .
  19. Have you tried hacksawing the rubber and pushing it out . Worked for mine.
  20. There should be 3 threaded 6mm holes on the front beam and 3 threaded 6mm holes on the beam which supports the front diff . Have re-drilled mine and tapped them 8mm so should work the same for yours .
  21. Had no probs when doing mine , just lifted the upper control arm up with all connected ( minus the lower joint connected ). Just a thought , you don't have a jack or axle stand under the lower control arm which is stopping it reaching it's full movement ? ( could even remove the upper control arm rubber which gives another 1'' of room ) .
  22. Nice work Mate , Love how you can see through it . Have seen an ad when a crim tries to cut it with a stanley knife ( and fails ) and then hits it with a bat ( and fails ) , is your mesh the same stuff ?
